Please take special note of the entry deadlines as we would appreciate your co-operation for early entries to accommodate all of the fairs.

RULES & REGULATIONS
1. That all persons be admitted at the gate entrance as members of this society on the payment
of Adult $5.00 , 12 and under $2.00.
2. Five percent (5%) of all prize money amounting to over five dollars ($5.00) will be withheld, except
in classes where an entry fee is charged.
3. Entries may be made to the secretary, Ivy Heapy, by letter and should be made at least two days
before the date of the show or by fax 566-2433. The Secretary will be at the Rink Sunday, July 18th for
the purpose of taking entries.
Entries close at 9:00 p.m. the day before the show, after 9:00 p.m. double entry fee will be charged.

4. Parties showing purebred stock must be prepared to produce to the Director In Charge, Certificate
of Pedigree.
5. Names or marks indicating names of owners must not appear on anything exhibited.
6. All stock and articles exhibited must be bona fide and absolute property of the exhibitor from thirty
days before the date of the exhibition or all prizes awarded to such exhibitors will be withheld. No
partnership for the mere purpose of exhibiting the subject thereof, no ownership by several individuals
who unite their properties to compete and exhibit shall be construed bona fide and absolute
ownership.
7. Produce and manufacture must be delivered to the persons having charge of show rooms and grounds
or be placed in their respective classes under their direction.
8. Not more than one article may be shown in any section by an exhibitor, except horses, cattle.
9. In the absence of competition, judges may award 1st, 2nd or no prize, according to the merit of the
exhibit and shall have it in their power to withhold any premium for any animal or article which they
consider unworthy of the same.
10. The Judges decision in all cases to be final.
11. No prizes shall be awarded in classes for homecrafts except for work that is the actual production of
the exhibitor or family member.
12. The Directors cannot hold themselves responsible for loss or damage to exhibits.
13. NO REFUND ON SCRATCHED ENTRIES AFTER THE FAIR HAS STARTED.
14. The Directors reserve the right to pay prizes as shown in this prize list on a percentage basis in the
event that the revenue of the Society is not sufficient to enable the prizes to be paid in full.

9 A.M. START GENERAL RULES
1. Please comply with posting of LIGHT HORSE barns.
2. Stabling is limited and on a first come - first served basis.
3. A competent official may measure horses and ponies.
4. Judge has power to place horses and ponies in their respective classes.
5. NO CROSS ENTRY from pony to horse and vice versa.
6. Cross entry from English to Western PERMITTED.
7. Classes where conditions and entries warrant maybe combined or split.
8. KEEP STABLE AREA CLEAN! PLEASE CLEAN YOUR STALLS BEFORE YOU
LEAVE, leaving straw and manure at end of barns for pickup.
9. Water will be available at the stable and washstands.
10. The area at the gate entrance to the ring MUST be kept clear..
11. Exhibitors are asked to refrain from foul and abusive language in and around
the stables and the show ring.
12. Ages determined as of January 1st of the calendar year.
13. All exhibitors should be neatly and appropriately dressed before entering ring.
14. All exhibitors will remain in position until ribbons have been awarded.
15. The judge’s decision is final.
16. Entry fee of $2.00 for each class except M.G.R.A..
17. There will be No Refund on scratched entries after the fair has started at 9:00 a.m.
18. The secretary will be on the grounds on Sunday to take entries. Call 566-2243 (rink).
19. The directors cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
20. The ORDER OF GO will be posted at the judge’s booth and available at the secretary’s
table. Please inform the directors of any changes
21. Tack changes must be reported to the judge’s booth prior to the start of the class.
22. When entering classes, give the secretary your name and the horse’s name.

The Manitoba Gymkhana Rodeo Association has requested that we advise that high point awards will be offered for the Pee Wee, Junior and Senior contestants for the week of the milk run shows ‘ONLY’. All participants must pay a membership fee in advance of their points counting for these awards. Single membership $40.00, family membership $90.00. This will also entitle the member’s points to count for year end awards providing they attend five sanctioned shows throughout the year. Memberships can be paid to any of the directors of M.G.R.A.: Mandy Taylor, Candace Bergeson, Wanda MacPherson, Cindy Matheson. Limited to one entry per class, except that the fair may allow an exhibitor to have two entries per class for
a minimum of two classes, these extra entries designated by the exhibitor as to where they will be shown.
A minimum of two exhibitors in each class is required to qualify for prize money grants.

All cattle exhibited must be sired by a registered sire.

433. MANITOBA ASSOCIATION OF AGRICULTURAL SOCIETIES
PROVINCIAL QUILT COMPETITION
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Competition is open to all quilt exhibitors who have not won first prize in the
Agricultural Societies’ Provincial Quilt Competition in the past three years.
2. The judging criteria used for judging is included in the “Judging Standards” book.
3. Entry can be hand quilted or machine quilted. No commercial quilting will be allowed.
The entry must be quilted by the person submitting the quilt.
4. Quilts must have an appropriate title.
5. Quilts must be at least 152 cm x 178 cm (60” x 70”) to be considered for the competition.
6. A Score Sheet will be distributed to all societies which must be used to judge the quilts.
Any quilt not scoring 70 or more points will not qualify for the district or final competition.
7. Each society may select three quilts at their fair to participate in the district competition.
Up to four quilts will be chosen at the district competition to go on to the provincial
competition, either machine or hand quilted.
8. Exhibitors may enter more than one quilt in this competition. However, they may only
have one quilt advance to the provincial finals.
9. Any quilt may be entered in competition at as many fairs as the exhibitor wishes.
However, it may only represent the society where it was first entered in the provincial
competition and won. The exhibitor must advise societies at the time of entry if the quilt
is a winner at a previous fair.
10. If an exhibitor does not wish to participate in the provincial competition, the runner-up
quilt will be selected to represent the society in the district competition.
11. At the end of the competition, the quilts will be returned to the quilters.
12. Pictures of the winning quilts and exhibitors are to be kept each year and placed in a
traveling album.
13. At the district level prize monies of $20.00 will be awarded for the two top quilts in each
category. At the finals $1200.00 will be awarded in the hand quilting Category (1st Prize
$750 & 2nd Prize $450) and $800 in the machine quilting category (1st Prize $500 & 2nd
Prize $300).
14. Pre-stamped and Cut Quilt kits are not allowed to enter, however ‘Block-of-the-Month’
quilts are eligible for the competition.
15. Quilt is to be available for display at the M.A.A.S. conference until after Saturday night
banquet – approximately 10:30 p.m.
16. Quilt owners are responsible for insuring their own quilts. The sponsors, societies and
MAAS will not be liable for damage or loss.
