 Our
children receive the best education from our local school because the
teacher/ student ratio allows the children more attention then they would receive in a larger community! VISIT OAK RIVER SCHOOL Pictured above is the Oak River School, a K to Grade 8 facility. It is a small school environment in which the students receive a lot of teacher attention. The school, because of its small environment, has a high education standard, an up to date computer lab with Internet access, as well as a recently built library, which provides students with a broad range of information. Students at Oak River have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of sports such as volleyball, baseball, basketball, badminton, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, curling, soccer, and track. A music class is available to those students interested in the musical arts. Private piano and guitar lessons are also available at the school. For many years, the school has been involved in the Birdtail Festival of the Arts. School trips to historic and educational sites are a regular occurrence as well. Within the school structure, nursery classes for four year olds are held on Friday mornings. The local children continue their high school education at Rivers Collegiate Institute in Rivers, Manitoba (located 15 miles southeast of Oak River).
