Oak River area: 4 miles north east of Oak River. Directions from Oak River are 2 miles north on PR 354 and 2 miles east on road 79N. Located on the NW ΒΌ of 1-14-22W

Rapid City area: North of town over the bridge. The hours of operation are the same as Oak River. Recycle shed is across from the hotel.

  • Office Paper (bond paper, envelopes, craft paper, etc.)
  • Shredded Office Paper
  • Boxboard (cereal boxes, laundry detergent boxes, toy boxes, show boxes etc.)
  • Corrugated Cardboard
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Steel/Tin Cans (no need to remove labels)
  • Glass Jars & Bottles (liquor bottles and glass jars) (no lids)
  • Gable Top Beverage Cartons (milk, milk products and juice cartons)
  • Tertra Pak Containers (beverage containers)
  • Plastics
    • 01 PET: soda and water bottles; ketchup and salad dressing bottles; peanut butter and jam containers
    • 02 PE-HD: milk, water, juice, and vinegar jugs; certain shampoo or toiletry bottles; cereal box liner; laundry detergent jugs
    • 04 PE-LD: clear plastic bags; squeezable bottles: eg. honey or mustard; cling films; flexible container lids; ice cream lids
    • 05 PP: reusable microwaveable ware; yogurt containers; margarine tubes; syrup containers; microwave meal trays

Not Accepted Recycling:

  • Plastic Bags and Film
  • Hard Cover Books (but will accept soft cover books and books with the hard cover removed)
  • Tin Foil of any kind
  • Toys, Baskets, etc.
  • Styrofoam
  • Glass from windows or dishes
  • Numbers 3 and 6 Plastic
  • Scrap Metal (can be taken to the WMS)

Consumer Batteries and Cell Phones

R.M. of Blanshard has Call2Recycle drop boxes located in the lobby of the municipal office. Drop off your used batteries and cell phones into the drop box located in the lobby of the municipal office. Instructions are located on the drop box. Rechargeable and normal batteries are accepted. Cell phones and their batteries regardless of their size, make, model or age.
